Drupa has been postponed until April 2021, but HP is still launching plans to bring the latest portfolio. The appearance of the latest machines is so futuristic. At the pre-Drupa live webcast event, replacing the media briefing that was to be held in Israel this April, which usually Print Graphic was invited to the event, but was later canceled due to the Covid-19 outbreak.
According to Alon Bar-Shany (vice president and general manager of HP Indigo) in his speech at the web cast program Pre Drupa said, “In fact, if Drupa is not postponed, the world’s biggest print show will take place there, HP will show off its latest machine and print demo with more than 30 machines in Hall 17. “
Among the many products launched, there are commercial B2 printing solutions, HP Indigo 100K digital press for duplex paper and HP Indigo V12 digital label printing machines for labels.
“The future is now. You may have seen how HP Indigo customers lead the way in global printing, labeling, packaging, and photo printing. The products that we have announced in the new portfolio are certainly revolutionary and we will create a future again, “said Alon Bar-Shany.
This new product has been developed with a large R&D expense and the most valuable experience is listening to our customers worldwide. Listening to more than 1,500 Series 4 platform customers for several years gave us an advantage that money can’t buy. It is priceless and it is from here that meaningful and disruptive innovations emerge. The following are excerpts of the interview with Alon-Bar Shany on the live webcast:

What is the strategy behind HP Indigo’s new product development?
The new portfolio we have launched has been built on three core principles, one, a quantum leap in application capabilities; two, driving productivity to a far greater degree; and third, automating workflows and collaborating with partners through industry-leading PrintOS.
There is another new B2 digital printing machine, the HP Indigo 15K, based on the successful HP Indigo 10000 platform, which has sold more than a thousand units since it was launched at Drupa 2012. Will the HP Indigo 12000 digital printing press discontinue?
HP Indigo always believes in maximizing profits for existing customers as a result we try and make the most of new introductions that are compatible. Many new capabilities will be available for improvement for our 12,000 customers today. Our printing press is made to last a long time.
What underlies you dare to predict the HP Indigo 15K digital printing press will be as successful as 10000 and 12000?
15K digital printing machines with new capabilities such as HD imaging, HD FM screens, all are predictive of AI-based, auto alerts, enhanced media capabilities and advanced automation and this is the key to winning competition in the print industry today. The HPP Indigo 100K has high productivity, returns the engine to offer 30% speed and 50% increase in productivity while maintaining the same image quality. 100K is expected to produce 100,000 B2 impressions per shift and produce 12 million duplex sheets per year.
With the productivity of the HP Indigo 100K, is this an HP Indigo warning signal to lithography printing manufacturers?
We always believe in creating value through innovation. 100K has been designed based on input from offset players and large-scale online digital players with short, medium to high volumes that always focus on productivity.
100K is a breakthrough innovation that produces the highest B2 digital sheets on the market with true non-stop production. This significantly reduces the completion time of the work by increasing automation.
In our opinion, offset printers have a burden of around 20% of work and that of course reduces profits in their daily production. The HP Indigo 100K printing press will turn jobs more profitable by eliminating the 20% burden of that cost. “
