From the Pira Smithers report, the digital printing market will reach more than 225% of the global value of the industry by 2024. In other words, analysts predict that the global market value of the digital printing industry will more than double this 2019. in about five years from now. As can be seen, growth in this industry is so fast.
One of the reasons why the digital printing industry is developing so rapidly is because printing is able to offer super-fast services to their clients. Printing is also able to provide services to end-users, a new way to increase profit margins and open opportunities for increased personalization and variable printing. These innovations allow print advertisements to be more targeted than ever before, allowing end-users to get faster and more efficient ways.
Development of Digital Inkjet inks
The development of inkjet ink is in line with the development of digital printing machines in the world. When in 1985, inkjet ink was first used for desktop printer machines, now it continues to grow until it is used for high speeds, such as ultra high speed industrial UV Printer machines.
The most popular printhead system in the world is the Drop on Demand printhead system. There are two types of drop on demand printheads on the world market, namely Thermal Inkjet Printheads and Piezzo electric printheads.
- Thermal Inkjet Printhead
Thermal inkjet technology uses heat to force ink out of the printhead onto the substrate. Conceptually, similar to the way water bubbles are boiled, thermal inkjet technology works by flowing microscopic electrical resistors behind the print nozzle, creating strong heat that vaporizes the ink to create bubbles that expand so quickly that the ink actually drops into the substrate.
After removing the ink, the chamber then cools and quickly allows more ink to refill the space and the process is repeated.

- Piezzo Electric printhead
Built from microscopic piezoelectric elements (such as crystals or ceramics) that are built behind the print nozzle. When an electric charge is applied to it, these elements bend backward, forcing the right amount of ink to be sprayed onto the substrate. Because the electric charge can be turned on and off like a switch, there is a large amount of control over the rate of ink released through the nozzle while also creating perfectly round points on the droplet size
different.
Data obtained from Jetbest Corporation (digital ink manufacturer
printing from Taiwan), the development of digital inkjet printing in the future will be dominated by Aquoeous UV / Latex and Bio Ink
